Q1: Is Tayogo Aquasound W18 suitable for swimming and underwater use?
A: Yes. Tayogo Aquasound W18 is specially designed for swimming and can be used underwater. You can enjoy music using MP3 mode, FM radio mode, or Receiving Mode with the Tayogo T6 transmitter while swimming.
Q2: How can I make sure the headphones stay secure while swimming?
A: For best stability, wear the W18 on your head and then cover it with a swimming cap. This provides extra security and helps prevent the headphones from moving or falling off during swimming.
Q3: Can I use FM during swimming?
A: Yes. Tayogo Aquasound W18 is equipped with an upgraded professional FM module that allows you to listen to local FM radio stations during swimming. The FM function works both underwater and outdoors, so you can enjoy live radio without downloading music or carrying a phone—perfect for long swim sessions.
Q4: How long does the battery last and how do I charge it?
A: Tayogo Aquasound W18 offers up to 9 hours of playtime, depending on volume and usage mode. It uses magnetic charging, which is easy, safe, and water-resistant.
Q5: What audio formats does the W18 support?
A: The W18 supports multiple audio formats, including MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG, and M4A, allowing you to enjoy high-quality music with broad file compatibility.
Q6: Can I use Bluetooth while swimming?
A: Bluetooth signals do not transmit well underwater, so Bluetooth mode is not recommended for swimming. For swimming, please use MP3, FM radio, or Receiving Mode. Bluetooth mode is designed for daily use on land, such as listening to music or making phone calls.
Q7: Why does the in-ear Tayogo W18 sound better than bone conduction headphones?
A: Bone conduction headphones use a metal transducer that produces sound by vibrating against the bones, rather than delivering sound directly into the ear canal. While this design is useful for certain scenarios, it typically results in limited sound detail, weaker bass, and lower overall audio clarity.
The Tayogo W18, as an in-ear headphone, uses traditional speakers that deliver sound directly into the ear, allowing for:
Clearer and richer sound quality
Better bass response
More detailed music playback
Because sound is transmitted directly and efficiently, the W18 provides a noticeably better listening experience than bone conduction headphones, especially for music.

Worked well in the water. Great for a relaxed swim with my favorite music.
The accompanying eartips were to big for my ears, switched to my regular tips from my other earphones.

love this product for listening to music while I swim. It was easy to copy MP3 files from a folder on my computer to the device, which came up immediately when plugged into a USB port. I love how the charging cable connects magnetically. I listen for about an hour a day while swimming, and recharge once a week. The headset is very comfortable to wear, and the earpieces work perfectly with good-quality sound for listening. The earplugs keep the water out of my ears and block most external sounds. I recommend this Tayogo Waterproof MP3 player for listening to music while swimming.

they are pretty inexpensive and work better than a lot of the other kinds of headphones I've tried to use for swimming. the sound is pretty good, considering. It's very easy to load music on (once you convert what you want to MP3s).very happy with these and will continue to use them and buy another pair when mine breaks.

I use this for swimming laps. It has a great sound, is easy to operate. The charging lasts a long time. Will be buying it again for sure when this one dies off....

I wanted something I could use while kitesurfing, so my requirements were:
- Very waterproof: I'm going to be taking these things into waves and submerging them a lot.
- MP3: *not* Bluetooth as that will lose connectivity a lot as BT does not work under water. I think this supports other formats than MP3, too.
- Self contained: don't want a separate MP3 player and long headphones wire.
- Low priced: I may lose it at any moment, and the ocean will eventually destroy it even if I clean it.
- In-ear: sounds better, keeps wind/water out, helps prevent surfer's ear.

As for swimming with them, they work nicely once you find the correct earbud. The ones that were attached to the headphones when I first opened the package didn’t fit well. One of the additional ones did. This made them great for lap swimming with great sound.Obviously when swimming, you have to use the MP3 mode as Bluetooth and FM don’t work in the water. That said, with the ability to have 1000’s of songs stored, means there’s plenty of music to listen to.

I've been using Tayogo brand since 2019. I just recently purchased the second generation and I am very happy. The sound quality is better than the first gen. This second gen feels better while swimming as well.I've had more expensive brands in the past that didn't work as well as this does. In my pictures I am using the triple flange earbud tips that are not standard with Tayogo any longer. These are my preference but they do come with a nice pair of swimmer tips.Highly recommend upgrading if you have the first gen or getting the second gen if you are new to Tayogo.

This product is so easy to use. Drag and drop your music or podcasts on it. I can’t swim without it as swimming is so boring. Having the music makes it easy. It does stay on your head and in your ears ! Totally waterproof! Amazing product ! I highly recommend!! Thank you tayogo !!

I have the first generation Tayogo MP3 waterproof player for a few years. It works great but
sometimes the sound quality is not as good when you are swimming. This new player is different.
They redesigned the player so that there is no way water can get into the system. The MP3 music is
very clear even when I am under water. I also tested the FM radio and that too came across very clear
even though I was swimming in an indoor pool. The only time I don't hear the FM radio well is when I
am under water, which is understandable. I also tried the bluetooth connection (not in the water) and
it too came through clearly. For someone who loves swimming laps this is a great device for keeping
your mind occupied. I've been looking for something like this for a long time. I finally found it. I even
had the Sony waterproof player. It died after a few years.

Fantastic product. Incredible sounds. I bought an earlier version which was discontinued. I had it for several years. Love it. I damaged it by accident so I bought this new version. Wow, you improved the ear pieces compared to the old version. Big improvement. Thank you for producing such a fantastic product.

I hydro-foil in the surf everyday and the light and sleek design of my Tayogo AquaSound Pro comfortably and securely lays around my neck and gives me access to the units functions. The ear insertions are excellent at keeping water out of my ears and the sound in better than many other waterproof mp3 players that I have had in the past.

I have been using waterproof MP3 players of various forms for years. They all seem to work for awhile but eventually the rigors of operating in a harsh environment (salt water) causes them to fail. The problem usually is the player at some point is unable to be detected by my laptop for charging and content downloads. Tayogo products (I’ve had many) were my favorite due to their integrated design. Less drag, built in cables and earphones, no need to clip it on your goggles. The problem was their interface with the computer was faulty. Until now.
This new player has a magnetic power/USB cable that eliminates the need to either remove the player from the “bone” or plug a cable into the player (which causes corrosion problems both with the connector and the cable).
If this new magnetic connector holds up it could add maybe YEARS to this player’s life. Fingers crossed!!
I do love Tayogo products, especially for their price, comfort, battery life, and sound quality. If this recent “fix” extends the players life…I’m sold!!

This is my fourth waterproof headphones by Tayogo. You might might wonder four, and that is because I wintered in the south and had sets there. I always had one in use and the other being charged. Am very happy with them I get to put my own music on and sing to my hearts content. Where i wintered and exercised, aquafit people called me the singing mermaid! (Then their class started and I sang to myself!). That was lovely.

I usually NEVER write reviews! But for this item, I felt compelled. I have tried several pairs of underwater headphones for the lap swimming that I do. They were all bone conduction headphones and the sound was horrible. These go in the ear canal and deliver crystal clear sound for the duration of my swim. I highly recommend this product! 5 stars all the way!

This is my 2nd Tayogo Waterproof MP3 player. I swim laps in the pool 4-5 times a week, and am very satisfied with the sound quality. It is also comfortable and fairly easy to use once I got the hang of it. I especially like that the ear bud wires are short (unlike some other underwater players) so they don't get tangled in my swim goggles or hair. I would recommend this product to other lap swimmers.

I recently purchase the Tayogo Waterproof Mp3 Player for Swimming + Bluetooth
Headphones for Running. These are the 3rd generation of the original product with many new
features. These are now complete, full function bluetooth headphones. As with earlier versions
the sounds continue to be great, especially when even underwater. The new magnetic charging
makes charging extremely easy. No more removing the MP3 player from the headset to charge
the unit. A significant upgrade is the voice notifications of the different modes you are in. I have
found this very helpful. It is important to fully read and understand the instructions, as the
buttons are all multi-mode. Also the charging LED / indicator is now on the inside of the
headband, no longer on the outside as it was previously. The headset seems a little looser than
earlier versions which many might like better. Other then having the comfortable earbuds in
your ears, you probably won't even notice you have them on. The MP3 player is straight forward
to use. It is very easy to drag and drop your music to load the MP3 player. The reset button is
useful, should you lock up the MP3 player inadvertently. The instructions cover everything
necessary to enjoy this waterproof MP3 player and bluetooth headphone. I would highly
recommend this Tayogo Waterproof MP3 Player for Swimming + Bluetooth Headphones for
Running. Also the Tayogo customer support has always been excellent.

I recently started lap swimming and although there is music at the pool, sometimes it good and...I did some research for water proof headphones and found these.. I read the reviews, all of the specs for the product and said ok let's try it out. Well I LOVE THEM. They are perfect. Very easy to use. adding your music to the MP3 player is simple, takes five minutes plug into computer or laptop drag and drop files onto headphones and your done. The sound underwater is clear and not muffled at all. the sound thru the Bluetooth setting is clear as well. The FM function works surprisingly better than I thought it would, picks up quite a few stations clearly, indoors and outdoors. I use all three functions and that makes them economical as well. sum it all up....they are great, best investment so far this year.

This is the first time I have used this product and it is excellent. Previously I have used other waterproof devices for my swimming but the sound on this is so much better and so easy to wear whilst in the swimming pool but to be fair I do not swim with my head under water. The battery life is also very good and I would recommend this product for sure having used it for a few months before posting this review.

Update 3/5/25: Tayogo contacted me and made it right. I can now go back to saying this is a great buy.
Update 2/5/25: after less than a year, the sound breaks up on one side. If I move the wire by where it attaches to the solid neck piece the sound cuts out. When swimming, the wire moves from the movement of the water, so I lose the audio on that side. This renders them unusable and therefore useless.
UPDATE: After my original review, Tayogo contacted me to discuss the product. Turns out the W18 is the latest model. Even though there’s no indication on the box that it does have FM functionality, it does in fact have an FM mode.
As for swimming with them, they work nicely once you find the correct earbud. The ones that were attached to the headphones when I first opened the package didn’t fit well. One of the additional ones did. This made them great for lap swimming with great sound.
Obviously when swimming, you have to use the MP3 mode as Bluetooth and FM don’t work in the water. That said, with the ability to have 1000’s of songs stored, means there’s plenty of music to listen to. The shuffle mode is nice so you’re getting a new mix every time you use them.
Now that I’ve tried this model I’m happy with them. Just make sure you pick the model you want between the W-16 and the W-18.
Old Review: Video says there’s an FM mode, but no where does it say it on the box. It also says 2nd Generation. Tayogo makes a version that says it’s 3rd generation. It’s the same price as this 2nd generation.
Strange thing is, the “sold by” company is Tayogo. The 3rd generation version is sold by another company.
Didn’t even open the box since it says 2nd generation. Since they’re the same price, make sure you’re getting the most recent model.

I have used Sony NS WS613 for over 1 year but it stopped working in 15 month and warranty finished when contacted Sony they said these headphones are beyond repair - then tried many MP3 players but returned all of them but this Tayogo is the ultimate product - I used for 4-5 times for over 1 hour swimming session but am so happy that it didn’t come out of my ear and secondly the sound quality is fantastic. Highly recommended

Please note: I have purchased 7 first generation Tayogo underwater MP3 players (the older USB version) and an Underwater MP3 waterproof iPod Shuffle in the past 3 years for hour long lap swim sessions.
Overall, I vastly prefer Tayogo's products despite needing to repurchase the same MP3 player over the years. I know waterproof music players have to endure a lot of wear and tear with the amount of times I swim each week. Underwater MP3's iPod shuffle couldn't keep up with flip turns which lead to the earbuds popping out, the waterproof seal eventually gave, and after returning it to the company to reseal it; I just got tired of fussing with the iPod.
The only problems I've encountered with Tayogo was shorting in one of the ears after some time. I know it had to do with the breakaway USB player, since I needed to squeeze the middle component to get both earbuds working again. I swim an average of 6 days a week, so I know going into it that I would need to replace my Tayogo MP3 players semi-frequently.
The magnetic upgrade, however, is a massive step up! Longer battery life, I no longer have to pop the player open in the middle which caused the failures in the previous version, and the upgraded grips on the side stick to my swim cap better. It no longer flies off when I'm in butterfly stroke or flip turning. I don't think I'll need to repurchase frequently, and overall I'm happy with this iteration. Looking forward to Tayogo's future updates to this player! It is a must-have when lap swimming for hours.
The only small gripe I have is rewinding or skipping songs has a bit of lag time. It now has a robotic voice that notifies you when you skip forward or backward before the song you want plays. Sometimes you can get a half second preview of the song before it formally changes.

Overall I like this set of waterproof headphones. I swim and paddle kayaks and outriggers. The short version is that the headphones performed better while swimming than paddling.
Setup was pretty easy. The magnetic charging cable made the link to load music very easy. Downside of that is that it’s another special cable to keep track of. I had an earlier version that I was very sad I lost. Nice not to have to take it apart to connect to the computer.
While swimming, the sound quality is very good as long as the earplugs stay in place. If they shift, say during a flip turn, and water enters, you have to clear the water to hear well. Minor adjustments every so often if you choose the correct size plugs (there are choices). Plugs stayed pretty well through freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, even butterfly.
While paddling with one earbud in (kayak and outrigger) so I could hear conversations and/or my crew, the neckband kept shifting and falling off. I didn’t have that problem when I I had both earbuds in. The same thing happened when I was hiking with one earbud in.. I suggest adding a way to hook the sides together to prevent that. Great sound quality out of the water though.
